First Buglasan Festival 2017 Weekend
The celebration of Buglasan Festival has finally kicked-off with a busy and eventful weekend here in the city of Dumaguete. The first three days after the grand opening was already filled with different great events and competitions.
What happened this weekend?
The Friday night of October 13, 2017, filled the Freedom Park (main venue of the celebration) and the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Complex (President Duterte attends Buglasan Festival Opening). The booths were opened to the public and thousands of people from all over Negros and the world came to join in the festivities. A grand NegOrense Street Parade was held around the streets despite the inconvenient rainy weather.
The following day, more great events were held from all over Dumaguete City. This includes the Buglasan Festival 2017 Elementary and High School Marching Band Competition which was held at the Perdices Colosseum. There were other events and competitions like Weightlifting Competition, High School Folk Dance (Rural) Competition, Ukulele Ensemble Competition, Opening of Sidlakan Village Heritage Booths, Hip-hop Dance Competition (Open), and Battle of the Acoustic Bands (by SONY Philippines). Truly, it was a day filled with events.
The first weekend of the Buglasan Festival 2017 was concluded with the celebration of the Miss Negros Oriental 2017 at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Complex and the gracing performance of celebrity singer Francisco Gaudencio Lope Belardo Mañalac a.k.a. Bamboo at Freedom Park Stage.
