Buglasan Festival 2022 to be held at Dumaguete Pantawan

The Buglasan Festival 2022 will make a comeback this year as announced by newly elected Provincial Governor Pryde Henry Teves. Restrictions have eased against COVID-19 and the province is ready to celebrate the grand festivities with the “new normal”.

Buglasan Festival 2022 – Budget & Venue

Since the Freedom Park is still under rehab or revamping, this year’s Buglasan Festival will be held at the Pantawan People’s Park in Dumaguete City. The initial budget to be allocated will cost 10 million pesos which will include prices for various competitions. Schedules, events, and other information are still to be planned.

The Buglasan is a grand festival where different cities and municipalities all over the province come together as one. Sharing and exhibiting their culture and festivals. Highlight events include the booth competition, food hubs, street dancing competition, showdown competition, and fireworks competition. Due to the pandemic, the celebration of the last two Buglasan was limited/postponed/canceled.

New Governor of Negros Oriental

Governor Pryde Henry Teves won the 2022 Elections and was sworn into office last June 30, 2022. He won the election with 296,897 total votes. Meanwhile, now former Governor Roel Degamo only got 277,462 votes (as of May 13, 2022, 3:18 pm).
