Buglasan Festival 2019 – RESULTS

The celebration of the Buglasan Festival 2019 was held for two long weeks from October 14, 2019 to October 28, 2019. Thousands of people came from all over the province during the two-week time celebration of the biggest and grandest Festival in Negros Oriental. They came to witness some of the biggest events such as the Festival of Festival Showdown, the Rondalla, Balitaw, Balak Competition, Live Band Competition, Cheer Dance Competition, Dance Sport Competition, Folk Dance Competition and more! Festival of Festivals in Negros Oriental

The grandest event of the whole celebration is, of course, the Street Dancing and Showdown of the Buglasan Festival 2019. The showdown was held on October 18, 2019, at the Macias Complex while the street dancing was held along the roads of Dumaguete City (the capital of Negros Oriental). For this year’s festival, only seven groups participated. There is the Kinaiyahan Festival of Dauin, Sandurot Festival of Dumaguete City (Asian College – School Division), Sinulog Festival of Tanjay City, Pakol Festival of Santa Catalina, Sandurot Festival of Dumaguete City (Barangay Banilad – Barangay Division), Yamog Festival of Pamplona and the Tapasayaw Festival of Bais City.

When it comes to keeping traditions and cultures alive, the Buglasan Festival is one of the best celebrations to preserve it. There is the Rondalla, Balitaw, Balak Competition and the Ukulele Ensemble Competition to keep the traditional music alive. Folk Dance Competition, Cheer Dance Competition, and the DanceSport Competition for all the dance enthusiasts. And singing competitions such as the Minus One Singing Competition, Duet Singing Competition and more! Don’t forget the biggest beauty pageant in the province…the Miss Negros Oriental 2019.
