Muay Thai Competition in Dumaguete City 2019
There will be a Muay Thai Competition in Dumaguete City next month. A press conference was held recently to showcase the preparations made by Asian Games Gold Medalist Romnick “Leon Kilat” Pabalete. He will be fighting against Thailand WBC Superfly weight Danai Wassan.
What is Muay Thai?
Muay Thai is a popular combat sport in Thailand. It uses stand-up striking along with many clinching strategies. This discipline is known as the “art of eight limbs” as it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins. It is not played at the Olympics. However, it is recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
Mano Mano Fight to Unite – Muay Thai Competition
A press conference was held yesterday May 29, 2019, at 11:00 am as a preparation for the “Mano Mano Fight to Unite”. The launching press-con was held at Bethel Guest House. During the press conference, a few introductions were made for the local Muay Thai fighter Romnick Pabalate. After this, he was asked to showcase his skills and practice in front of media and sponsors. The fight will be held this coming June 29, 2019, at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Complex.

After the 2019 Election, re-elected City Mayor Felipe Antonio “Ipe” Remollo and his administration managed to host several sporting events in Dumaguete City. This included the PBA Governor’s Cup 2018, UNIGAMES 2018 and CVIRAA 2019 among others.
