Bais City Approves Funds for Dengue Cases

The Bais City Government has recently approved its quick response fund (QRF) for the prevention and control measures of dengue in the city.  There were more than 2000 suspected dengue cases in the province and majority are from Bais City.  Mayor Mercy Goñi said that prior to this, the city government has donated a certain amount to the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) for free blood screening of indigents.

The city is also planning to allocate funds for supplies and other assistance for the City Health Office’s anti-dengue program and immediate financial aid will be given to indigents already afflicted with dengue.  While sanitation officers were directed to visit, inspect and educate residents on measures to control spread of dengue-carrying mosquitoes, the mayor is appealing to residents to do their share in the fight against this deadly disease, such as proper waste management and cleanliness.
