Forum to Close Peace Month

September is National Peace Month and Negros Oriental is winding up its observance with a peace forum organized by Bantay Bayanihan with the theme “Empowering Women as Peace Builders and Enhancing Their Active Participation in GAD Fund Planning Toward Responsive Programs, Activities and Projects on Gender 7 VAWC Issues, Including Establishment of Women-Led Community-Based Social Enterprises.”  This will be on September 30 at the Provincial Convention Center, Dumaguete City and will be attended by the public and private sectors and the academe.

Resource persons will speak about the Magna Carta for Women, the purpose and utilization of the GAD Fund, peace efforts of the Philippine Army, policies on anti-child labor and abuse, and GAD implementation, among others.  Officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Army, and Philippine National Police are expected to attend and deliver their speeches.
