7th Sidlakan Star in Dumaguete

The 7ths Sidlakan Star Season will be held from the 26th of December 2017 at Freedom Park Stage in Dumaguete City at 7:00 pm. According to the Negros Oriental Tourism Unit, the Sidlakan Star season will be used for the search of raw and aspiring rising star talents from all over Negros Oriental.

Sidlakan Star Competition

The Sidlakan Star will be an event in search for the unique and talented star-like people with the skills of either dancing, singing, acting, and etc. Encouragement for application and auditioning was made by the Provincial Tourism Unit Head Myla Abellana herself for the said event. According to her, there will be three elimination rounds on each of the categories before the grand finals; which would be held on the 30th of December 2017 at Freedom Park.

There will be four categories for the Sidlakan Star competition. First is the amateur children solo singing, aged 14 years old and below; second is the unique amateur talents category; third is the junior group performing arts; and lastly the senior group performing arts.

Awards and Rewards

For the children solo singing competition, grand prize winner will receive cash of PHP 12,000, second place will receive PHP 8,000, third place will receive PHP 6,000 while three consolation prizes of PHP 3,000 for the rest. For the unique Negorense competition, first prize winner will receive PHP 12,000; second place PHP 8,000; third place PHP 6,000; while five consolation prizes worth P3,000 for the rest.

For the Junior Group Performing Arts Category (Amateur Level) category, first place will be taking home PHP 15,000; second place PHP 10,000; third place will receive P8,000. Four consolation prizes will be given for the rest worth of PHP 5,000 each. Senior Group Performing Arts winners will receive PHP 30,000 as the grand prize; PHP 20,000 for second place; PHP 15,000 for third place; and PHP 10,000 each as consolation for the rest.
