Miss Negros Oriental 2015

Miss Negros Oriental 2015 comes from Dumaguete. Trixia Marie Maraña won the title, which was the first competition of for this crown. The lats year’s contestants fought for the Miss Negros Oriental Tourism title. In 2015 “tourism” was erased, creating a more important sounding event.

The Macias Sports and Cultural Complex was only filled to the half of its capacity when the event finally started long past the official starting time which was set at 8:00 pm. Most visitors of the Buglasan opening day preferred to enjoy the entertaining action in Freedom Park and the whole capitol area instead of sitting on their chairs for more than 5 hours with endless delays and breaks.

All 13 candidates did their best and at the end Miss Trixia Marie Maraña used her home advantage to collect the crown. While there were cheers and tears of joy, at the end it appeared that candidates, VIPs and each single visitor of the Miss Negros Oriental 2015 coronation night was ready to go home and just happy that it was over.

Organizer of contests of this kind may really re-think their concept. Starting in time and not stretching it over 5 hours could be a good start.

Congratulations Trixia Marie Maraña
