Dumaguete Electric Posts Fell in Barangay Tabuc-Tubig

Electric posts in Dumaguete fell and caused several blackouts in the city. The incident occurred after a sea van accidentally toppled eight electric poles in Barangay Tabuc-tubig yesterday, April 28, 2022. Power service interruption affected Feeders 2, 7 and 9 of Bagacay Substation. Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative (NORECO) II are still working on restoring power in other affected areas.

Power Restoration in Dumaguete City

At 9:24 pm of April 28, 2022, NORECO confirmed the power restoration of Feeder 7 (downtown area). Areas under Feeder 7 include Colon Ext., Colon St., Legaspi St., Locsin St., Pinili St., Public Market Area, Real St. (DuEkSam to Old Banica Bridge), Saint Louis Village, Sta. Rosa St. and Tinago in Dumaguete City.

Meanwhile, NORECO confirmed that as of today, April 29, 2022, at 4:49 pm power has been restored in Feeders 2 and 9 of Bagacay Substation. Areas under Feeder 2 include Banilad, Sacsac Old SPI and Suludpan in Bacong, Bagacay, Bajumpandan, Banilad, Canday-ong, Cadawinona, Calindagan, Cantil-e, Junob (except Silliman Heights Northern Junob), Mangnao, Tabuc-Tubig and Talay in Dumaguete City. Bong-ao and East Balabag in Valencia. Areas under Feeder 9 are BGComm, Go Hotel, Teletech, and Robinsons Place in Dumaguete City.
