OFW Family Day in Dumaguete City

This year’s Overseas Filipino Workers – OFW Family Day of the Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Region 7 will be held in Dumaguete City, said Ma. Socorro Mira, head of the city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO).  They are expecting about 1,500 OFWs and their families on December 11 to join the affair.

Free lunch will be provided for each participating family for a maximum of four members.  Several activities lined up for that day include a feeding program and gift-giving activity to some 100 children of indigent families to be identified by the local Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, “OFW Got Talent” competition and games and door prizes.

Mira added that interested OFWs can register at the PESO for OFWs in Dumaguete City, and through their OFW associations in Sibulan, Canlaon City, Dauin, Tanjay City and in other towns in Negros Oriental. OWWA officials are set to be in Dumaguete City on November to finalize plans for the OWWA Family Day.
