SSS Opens on Saturdays this February
SSS (Social Security System) in the Philippines, along with its 51 branches will be operating on Saturdays for the month of February. This is said to assist members and employers in paying their contributions in lined with the implementation of the Real-Time Posting Contributions (RTPC).
What is SSS?
Social Security System (SSS) is a social insurance program in the Philippines operated by the state in private, professional and informal sectors. SSS is established through the Republic Act No. 1161 (Social Security Act) in 1954. It was later on modified in 1997 through Republic Act No. 8282.
Saturdays & Extended Hours
“Since the RTPC system is new and some members and employers are not yet accustomed to it, we are extending our ATS facility to accept contribution payments and at the same time, provide assistance in using the RTPC system,” said SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. Dooc
The SSS president and chief also mentioned that 78 SSS branches in the Philippines will be extending daily office works to two more hours. On the month of February, the different SSS offices will be closing at 7 pm instead of 5 pm wherein payment thru ATS facilities will be available.

The different SSS branches in the Luzon Visayas & NCR have accepted the Saturday operations and extended working time.
