Tight Security in UniGames

Senior Superintendent Henry Biñas, acting police provincial director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Negros Oriental, gave the assurance to athletes and other participants in the 2016 Unigames that tight security will be provided in Dumaguete City and other venues in neighboring towns.  The week-long annual athletic event started Monday with delegates coming from 38 colleges and universities all over the country.

Biñas made this statement amidst reports of a bomb threat during the weekend and that Dumaguete City is the target of a terrorist group from Mindanao.  He added that they are closely coordinating with the Philippine Army and other law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of the games.
