CVIRAA/NIRAA meet 2016
The NIRAA (Negros Island Region Athletic Association) meet, formally known as the CVIRAA (Central Visayas Region Athletic Association) meet, was announced to have their annual celebration starting from January 31 to February 6. Some games, however, will be played starting on the 6th of January.
Department of Education (DepEd) sports coordinator Suzette Gocotano said that the event will be held in the city of Naga, Cebu on the stated dates. Schedules of games and game location may change however depending on the organizers of the event.
Athletes, Coaches and Officials
The following games of the Association include major games such as volleyball, basketball, swimming, table tennis or Ping-Pong, lawn tennis, track-and-field and of course soccer or football.
The overall athletes, student representatives, coaches and officials that will be going to the said event are estimated to be from 10, 000 or more. These people are expected to be in Don Bosco Victoria’s by Wednesday of January 6.
City meet
The City meet is a series of all games where in all the athletes and representatives of every school in the city will compete. The overall champion of the sports game will represent the Regional meet or in our case the CVIRAA/NIRAA meet.
During the City meet of Dumaguete, which was held on the first week of November, school such as Saint Louis School Don Bosco, Saint Paul’s University, Silliman University and other schools were championed in their specific games therefore they will be representing the city during the Regional meet.
The Palarong Pambansa, however, will be held in Cagayan Valley, Tuguegarao this April 10 to 16, 2016.
