DFA Dumaguete Celebrates First Year

The Regional Consular Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA-RCO) in Dumaguete City celebrated its first year of operations recently.  It was October last year that its office was formally opened at the Robinsons mall.  The celebration was attended by Mayor Felipe Remollo and former ambassador MacArthur Corsino.

Mayor Remollo said that the number of persons who will be coming over to the DFA Dumaguete for processing of passports are expected to rise in the next three years due to increased presence of private companies and foreign investors who will be bringing in economic development opportunities and investments.

He further added the city government has established partnership through a memorandum of understanding with Changzhou Xintian Rail Transit Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese firm, for a monorail project and electric tricycles (e-trikes).
