Silliman University Reopens Offices, Enrollment and Classes Starts

The Silliman University offices will reopen, and enrollment starts. Right after the release of Executive Order 29 Series of 2020 stating the lift of ECQ in the province, Silliman University posted on their Facebook Page the advisory. The school will reopen again, with strict physical distancing and hygienic protocols.

Silliman University Reopens – Office Operations

Silliman University offices shall reopen on May 4, 2020. All university personnel are required to wear masks. Offices shall operate on o skeletal and rotational basis. All unit heads shall identify tasks and activities that may be done remotely and those that can only be done on campus. A social distance of at least 2 meters shall be observed in all places on the campus. Temperature checks will be done of the entrances. The following gates will be opened: Katipunan/ Langheim Gate, Laguna Gate, Admin/Cafeteria Gate, Elementary, High School, and College of Agriculture.

Enrollment and Start of Classes for Silliman University

All academic units are advised to proceed with the enrollment process as scheduled while waiting for the announcement from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepEd) on the start of classes for the incoming school year. In the absence of such advisory, the University will continue to adopt the blended approach to learning until CHED and DepEd will have their official issuances on the matter. All units are therefore directed to start implementing their enrollment procedures. Further, please be reminded that the Summer Term will end on May 23, 2020.

Cognizant of the dotes which were previously approved, namely:

  • Online Admission Application: April 15, 2020 – May 29, 2020
  • Online Registration for Incoming Freshmen: May 18-29, 2020
  • Regular Registration Period: June 1-5; 8-11, 2020
  • Start of Classes: June 15, 2020

Please take note of retooling schedules that will be announced later on relative to online delivery of teaching and learning. We encourage everyone to participate in the retooling sessions as this is the only way to effectively reach out to our learners in these challenging times.”
