People from all over the world joins in the celebration of the Silliman University 116th Founders Day which starts from July 7, 2017 to August 30, 2017. The learning center of Silliman University Founders celebration plays an important role not only to the university but to the people of Dumaguete City as well.
Silliman Founders 116th Founders Day Highlight
The long celebration is filled with many activities not only for the students nor the alumni but for visitors and Dumagueteños as well. Some of the highlighted events include (tentative as of July 25, 2017): Hibalag Opening (7:00pm August 20, 2017), Pamahaw Sillimaniana – Breakfast Sillimaniana (6:00am August 24, 25, 26, 2017), Miss Silliman Pageant Night (7:30pm August 25, 2017), Alumni Homecoming & PASWI Negros Oriental Revival, Hibalag Christian Night (7:00pm Augusts 27, 2017) and of course the Silliman University Parade.
Theme: “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness”
The religious celebration of the Founder’s Day will be extending its festivity not only for the university related people but for the Dumagueteños and other visitors as well. Usually, visitors would join in the celebration of the Hibalag where booths are open for exhibits. Live bands and shows can also be seen at the venue of the Hibalag.
Still being tentative, the Hibalag Opening-Miss Silliman University Pageant-SU Parade are some of the main highlights that should not be missed. Prior to this Founder’s Day celebration, there would be a Governor’s School Sports Back-to-School Competition (Level 2) from August 5-27, 2017.
