Launching of Partido NegOrense

Governor Roel Degamo will launch a new local political party, called Partido NegOrense next month, and he is expected to be its standard bearer for governor in 2016.

The party will be composed of ordinary citizens on the streets and barangay officials, and politicians who want to join the group will have an equal footing with the rest of the members, Degamo said.

He added the formation of the party was a result of more than two years of planning, consultations, research, and a lot of considerations. He said his vice gubernatorial candidate is Board Member Liland Estacion of the 1 st District.

Degamo added he is the “No. 1 supporter of Mar Roxas”, when asked whom to support in the 2016 presidential elections.

He clarified he remains an independent while the Liberal Party in Negros Oriental is yet to come out with its official stand, adding a number of mayors who are members of the LP is with him.

Roxas, secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government, is the presumptive presidential candidate of the administration party in next year’s election.
