EDC Received ACES Awards

The Energy Development Corporation (EDC), represented by its chief finance officer, Nestor Vasay, received the award as one of the Top Green Companies in Asia during the recent 2016 Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability Awards (ACES Awards), winning over nearly 200 other companies and individuals from Asia.

The ACES Awards is organized by the MORS Group, a company based in Malaysia, and during the awards night at the Shangri-la Hotel in Singapore, MORS Group CEO Shanggari Balakrishnan explained that the award is given to those who promote sustainable practices in Asia.  Jayanthi Desan, lead jury of the ACES Awards, also added that winners of the awards show how their best practices improve their business at the same time make a positive contribution to the community, most of them using the Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) reporting framework on sustainability.

EDC is operating a 222.5-megawatt geothermal power plant in Valencia, Negros Oriental and has been producing clean, renewable power to Negros Island and the Visayas region for over 30 years now.  The company is proud to say clean, renewable energy for over three decades without harming the nearby environment.  It has been the recipient of many awards for
