Duterte’s final decision for presidency

Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, currently the mayor of Davao City, have been asked by people if he will run for president. In the first few months Duterte have made it clear that he will not run for presidency as hot interviews were rolling. Duterte said that his service to Davao City was enough for him.

“If I would rate my service to Davao City from 1 to 10, I’d give myself 6-and-a-half. I’m okay with that. The people of the Philippines, they are not ready for my kind of style. There are things we have to do because nobody else can do this for us,” he said in a mix of Filipino and English.

Duterte however also mentioned that he will give it a shot after a few months after some critics have shot their way against him. This point of decision, he said, was due to the recent criticism of what Rosales and de Lima have turned against him.

“This is the first time that I am mentioning the possibility of being the president. This time, well, I am thinking about it, really,” Duterte told reporters.

But as of this this Monday, after making some mind change, Duterte faced reporters clearly and loudly confirming as he said,

“Yes, I am running” he told reporters in San Juan City (Metro Manila). “But the formal declaration will be made by the PDP.”

Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was obviously referring to Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan or PDP-Laban, the party that has been encouraging him to run for the presidency.  The only issue now is if Duterte will be able for the  validity of candidacy for lawyer Romulo Macalintal have shown some doubts of the matter.
