Supported by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the municipality of Dauin will be launching the new maritime school very soon.
Maritime Academy in Dauin
The World Maritime Academy and Training Center Inc. will be located at the three-hectare property at Maayong Tubig of Dauin. With different facilities in the field of learning, this school will aim in bringing equip students with the maritime skills needed. Coastal areas of Dauin will be used for their training and school activities.
Some of the great products of the World Maritime Academy and Training Center Inc. includes the retired marine captains, Capt. Romo; Captain Albert Alde (president of the World Maritime Academy and Training Cente) and Capt. Minos Giannopoulos (director of the Friendly Maritime Service Inc.) among others.
“WMATCI’s ultimate pursuit to a holistic approach of producing globally competent seafarers and delivering excellence and competence in attaining knowledge, skills, proficiency and quality professional workforce will eventually achieve its mission and its ambitious struggle as part of national building for Negros Oriental,” Capt. Albert Alde said.
Inclined to the learning challenges here in Negros Oriental, the Philippine Information Agency or PIA is continuing to engage thousands of students for the ASEAN Campus Forum. The Association of South East Asian Nations or ASEAN Campus Youth Forum and Trivia Game will be held this Friday, August 18. More than 1,000 students from Negros Oriental High School will be expected to attend the said academic challenge.
Celebrating the 50th Founding Anniversary of the ASEAN group with the theme: “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World”.
