The schedule of activities for Buglasan Festival has been finally released. The actual celebration will be held from October 13-22, 2017. Pre-events, such as Miss Negros Oriental Grand Launching, will be celebrated as early as September 30, 2017.
Knowing Buglasan Festival
Buglasan Festival is also known as the “Festival of Festivals” that is celebrated here in Negros Oriental. This celebration brings the festivals and culture of the different municipalities, cities, and town in the region. The Buglasan Festival is also known in the Philippines as the first ever festival to bring the different festivals in one grand celebration. There will be 25 booths expected to be built in Freedom Park (main venue of the celebration) to represent the 25 different municipalities and cities of Negros Oriental.
Due to the celebration of the Buglasan Festival 2017, Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo has announced October 20, 2017, as Negros Oriental Holiday. Public schools and some private school will have no classes and offices during the said day of celebration.
Highlight Events of Buglasan Festival 2017
The celebration has different tons of great events and shows. Some of the highlights one must see are of course the Buglasan Festival Street Dancing and Showdown Competition (October 20, 2017), held in the streets of Dumaguete and at Lamberto Macias Sports & Cultural Complex respectively. Other great events to see are opening of Sidlakan Village Heritage Booths (October 14, 2017), Miss Negros Oriental 2017 (October 15, 2017) and of course the Buglasan Festival King and Queen 2017 Pageant (October 20, 2017).
