Carlos Yulo – Philippines First World Champion in Gymnastics
After qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics, Carlos Edriel Yulo rules the men’s floor exercise to emerge as the first Filipino world champion in gymnastics. He has a final score of 15.300 in the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Stuttgart, Germany last October 12, 2019.

The 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship was held in Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Germany from October 4-13, 2019. As of October 2nd, 92 federations had registered gymnasts for the event, with a total of 288 men and 259 women.

Carlos Edriel Yulo is a 19 years old Filipino artistic gymnast born
The 19-year-old Filipino already made history as the first Filipino to land on the podium in the world artistic gymnastics championships in Doha, Qatar when he bagged a bronze in the same event. For this year’s World Artistic Gymnastics Championship Yulo bested Israel’s Artem Dolgopyat (15.200), who placed 2nd, and China’s Ruoteng Xiao (14.933), who settled for the bronze, to become the first Southeast Asian male gymnast to win a gold in the Worlds.
