“Newly-Identified” Drug Pushers in Negros Oriental

The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency captured three “newly-identified” drug pushers and drug personalities in Negros Oriental. One of them was captured in Canlaon City, the other in Bacong and the last in the municipality of Siaton.

Drug War in the Philippines

As part of his campaign during the 2016 Elections, current President Rodrigo Duterte is fighting the drug war in the Philippines. Creating special forces and commanding groups to eliminate all drug personalities from drug lords, pushers, users, addicts and etc. Substances considered as a bad drug are diamorphine (heroin), cocaine and Cannabis indica, Marijuana, and Methamphetamine (shabu) among others.

According to the drug policy President Duterte made, anyone in public is ordered to kill suspected criminals and drug personalities. Since the year 2016, the Philippine Drug War caused an enormous number of deaths all over Negros Oriental and nationwide.

Drug Pusher Caught in Canlaon City

The first newly-identified drug personality is named Jumenick Marco Maquiling. A 25 years old from Uptown, Barangay Mabigo in Canlaon City. Maquiling was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, during a drug bust at the Uptown Public Market of Barangay Mabigo in Canlaon City.

Recovered from Maquiling were one piece of a small heat-sealed transparent sachet of shabu, a piece of plastic canister wrapped with electrical tape, eight other pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets with shabu, a P500 marked bill, and P190 in different denominations.

Drug Pusher Caught in Bacong

The Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU) personnel of the Bacong Police Station, along with members of the provincial office of the PDEA, arrested a certain Junrey Garovillo Tindoc, 27 years old, single, and a resident of Barangay Bagacay of Dumaguete City. Tindoc in a buy-bust operation at 2:30 a.m. after he allegedly sold suspected shabu to an undercover operative. Confiscated from him were three elongated transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a mobile phone, and a PHP1,000.00 bill used in the buy-bust transaction.

Drug Pusher Caught in Siaton

The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office identified the suspects as Rhea Binondo Remorosa, 29 years old, and a resident of Barangay Agan-an, Sibulan town. Remorosa was arrested around 8:45 p.m. Monday, April 15, in a drug bust conducted by the Siaton Police Station personnel in Barangay 1.

Recovered from her were two pieces of heat-sealed sachets of shabu and a P500 marked money. Remorosa sold the sachet to an undercover operative before her arrest. Suspects are now detained and appropriate charges are set to be filed against them.
