22nd UniGames in Dumaguete

Dumaguete City will be the main host for the sports celebration of the 22nd UniGames which will be held from October 22 to 28, 2017. This year’s theme will be ““The Games that bring us together for Unity and Peace”.

The UniGames will have ten different sports event competition during the celebration. There will be only 24 colleges and universities who will be joining the said sports event. The athletes will be arrive from October 19 or 20, just in time for the celebration of the Buglasan Festival 2017.

“The UniGames, as envisioned by its late founder, Br. Rolando R. Dizon, FSC, is to bring together the best and the finest collegiate student-athletes in the country representing their respective schools in the spirit of fair play, goodwill, friendship and peace while continuing to discover and develop potential national athletes through its top-quality competitions,” said UniGames president Roger Banzuela.

The different sports (both male and female) will have their own venue as followed for the 22nd UniGames:

  • Athletics – Perdices Coliseum
  • Badminton – The Riverside Courts
  • Basketball – Lamberto Macias Sports Center
  • Chess – Negros Oriental Convention Center
  • Football – Perdices Coliseum
  • Sepak Takraw (best regu) – Foundation University blue gym
  • Table Tennis – Negros Oriental Convention Center
  • Taekwondo – Foundation University or Robinsons Place
  • Volleyball – Foundation University Gym, Valencia Gym or Barangay Talay Covered Gym as reserved
  • Beach Volleyball –Rizal Boulevard n Dumaguete City

Universities and Colleges for the UniGames

The universities and colleges of Adamson University, Arellano University, Cebu Institute of Technology University, Colegio De Sta. Ana de Victorias, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde-Manila, and De La Salle University-Manila is confirmed to joining in the said UniGame celebration.

The rest of the universities and colleges will include: Foundation University; Hercor College of Roxas City; Holy Angel University-Pampanga; Jose Maria College of Davao City; Mindanao State University-Tawi-Tawi; Riverside College; Rizal Technological University-Mandaluyong; St. Louis University-Baguio City; St. Theresa College of Tandag; STI West Negros University- Bacolod City; University of Mindanao-Davao City; University of Mindanao Tagum College-Tagum City; University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos; University of Perpetual Help System-DALTA- Las Piñas; University of San Jose-Recoletos- Cebu City; and the University of Sto. Tomas.
