Apps Incubation and Development Laboratory

Silliman University inaugurated this afternoon the “Apps Incubation and Development Laboratory” at the Uytengsu Computer Center. The Apps Lab is equipped with 31 iMacs, 31 iPads and a state-of-the-art projection system. It was established in partnership with Apple, Inc. and with funding from the Uytengsu Foundation.

The Apps Lab is envisioned to nurture the creativity and ingenuity of students and the youth in Dumaguete and Negros Oriental. It challenges the youth to test out their ideas in developing mobile iOS apps that can aid in academic learning and are community-oriented.

Earlier this month, the College of Computer Studies hosted a trainers’ training with Apple, Inc. to capacitate some faculty and staff for the roll-out of apps development programs starting next semester.
