DILG and DOT at Organic Farmers Festival Opening

The 11th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival will open on November 15, Tuesday, and officials of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Department of Tourism (DOT) are expected to attend the opening ceremonies.  Officials of both agencies will give their messages as well as the governors of the Negros Island provinces.

The festival, hosted by the province of Negros Occidental, will be held at the Negros First Cyber Center in Bacolod City and will be until Saturday, November 19, with the theme “Getting Connected Through Regenerative Organic Agriculture”.

Activities during the festival include exhibits and sale of organic food products, lectures on best practices and innovations of farmers and other guests and awarding of the “Best Gulayan sa Paaralan” (Best School Vegetable Garden) and Organic Agriculture Achievers Award, among others.
