Youth Movement for Change

The Kabataan Para sa Pagbabago/National Youth Movement for Change was launched September 22 at Negros Oriental.  Present at the launching was Kabataan Partylist Representative Sarah Elago who called for the youth to initiate forum discussions regarding education, human rights and peace in their schools and universities and in their community.  Elago also met with youth groups and organizations.

She disclosed that the Kabataan partylist is supporting the Duterte administration in its fight for justice and security in the country but this should be done with a show of respect to life and human rights and refrain from extra-judicial killings for there is a proper venue for due process in the country. She is a member of the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs and Human Rights and she said that the killings are not the means to the end.  An integrated solution is more appropriate but will entail more planning, more time and more resources especially on the socio-economic aspect.
