Warning for 4Ps campaign use

An unnamed politician, who will be running for the upcoming election, in Negros Oriental has been said to be taking great advantage of the so called Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps program set by the government for their own interest.

Social Welfare & Development Secretary Corazon “Dingky” Soliman stressed out due to this said issue. She said that not even the President can remove a Pantawid or 4Ps beneficiary from the said list unless he or she fails to comply for the said requirements set by the government.

“Only the beneficiary can cause his or her membership with the conditional cash transfer program and nobody else,” she argued.

DSWD Secretary Corazon Soliman also issued a verbal directive to DSWD Negros Island Region regional director Shalyn Marie Sun Lucero right in the presence of Governor Roel Degamo, who was also invited in the occasion to validate the information.

Required to attend the conference were regional directors,  executive committees, bureau directors as part of the yearly assessment, and to recognize the new region which is Region 18, as a coming out party for the new region with Lucero as the first regional director.

Records shows that more than 4.5 million beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), more than 390,000 had benefitted from the livelihood component for starting a small business and employment facilitation with total funding allotted so far by government at P9 billion. Resulting to about 1.5 million more or less families have been bailed out of poverty.
