Typhoon Odette Signal No. 2 in Negros Oriental

Typhoon Odette (Rai) continues to strengthen over the Philippine Sea. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has placed several areas in the country under Signal No. 1 and 2, including the province of Negros Oriental.

December 16. PAGASA also said in a briefing at 6 pm on Wednesday that Odette was already 485 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, moving west-northwest at a slightly faster 25 km/h from 20 km/h in the morning.

Typhoon Preparations in Negros Oriental

According to the typhoon tracker, Typhoon Odette will hit Negros Oriental around lunchtime on December 17, 2021. Several municipalities, including Dumaguete City, has closed public areas and parks. People are also encouraged to stay at home as rainfall and wind intensify.
