Tourism Week 2017 Dumaguete City
The celebration of the tourism week in Dumaguete City will be celebrated from September 25-29, 2017 with the theme “Sustainable Tourism – a Tool for Development”.
Tourism Week 2017 and Tourism Month
September is the Tourism Month all over the world. Here in Dumaguete City, tourism is one of the main sources for the economy. During this month, different activities are held that would involve the participation of not only tourists but locals as well.
Flow and Schedule of Activities
The celebration of the Tourism Week is kicked-off with a 4:30 am – 7 am “Color Me” Fun Run around the CAP Building going to the Perdices Coliseum. This is then followed by a tour guiding activity from 1 pm to 3 pm. The day is ended with a final activity called Quiz Bee around 3 pm – 5 pm at Robinsons Place Dumaguete.
On the following days, these activities are to be held as followed: (September 26, 2017) 1 pm to 5 pm Table Setting and Floral Competition & Fruit and Vegetable Carving at Robinsons Place Dumaguete, 6 pm Tourism Month Celebration Press Conference at City Mall Dumaguete, (September 27, 2017) 1 pm – 5 pm Cooking Competition at Robinsons Place Dumaguete, (September 28, 2017) 1 pm – 5 pm Fair Tending Competition at Robinsons Place Dumaguete, (September 29, 2017) 8 am till 12 noon 8th Tourism Congress at the Negros Oriental Convention Center, 6 pm Tourism Ambassador and Ambassadress 2017 at Robinsons Place Dumaguete.
With the upcoming celebration of Buglasan Festival on the month of October, the celebration of Dumaguete’s Tourism Week is squeezed. Nevertheless, the Tourism Office of the city did their best in still creating a fun-filled week for the tourists and the locals.
