Silliman University in Dumaguete City opens doors with different programs and scholarships for students.

Japanese Universities takes English Program from Silliman

A memorandum of agreement for has been released between the Shikoku Gakuin University (SGU) in Japan and Silliman University in Dumaguete City. Other Japanese students, or any other non-English speaking student, can now have their enrollments for the Intensive English Program (IntEP) in Silliman University.

A batch of 15 students are sent to Silliman University for the Intensive English Program yearly from Shikoku Gakuin University. Each batch is given a period of 1 month (three-week from August to September) to avail the Intensive English Program. Aside from Shikoku Gakuin University, other Japanese Universities like the International Christian University and Ferries University are also availing the Intensive English Program and student exchange program.

Silliman Scholarships Available

Silliman University in Dumaguete offers some whole new opportunities including the availability of scholarships. The Agro-Industrial and Technical Education is now offering 120 slots in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Interior and local Government (DILG).

These scholarships include the programs of Contact Center Services NC II (50 slots), Animal Production NC II -Swine (25 slots), Animal Production -Poultry (25 slots), and Cookery NC II (20 slots). Academic and Extra Curricular Activities

With so many opportunities of scholarships and programs, Silliman University will be producing some of the best out of each individual. But despite the academical performance, Silliman University is also encouraging students to pursue a balance knowledge for sports.

The 12 years old Nicole Marie D. Tagle has been one of the examples for the successful young and active students from Silliman University. Nicole Marie D. Tagle is also entitled to be the country’s first slot in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games after her recently participated in the 2017 World Archery Youth Championship held at Rosario, Argentina which she garnered 9th place.

Before the world archery games, she also played in the recent Southeast Asian Games held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which she managed to bag the silver medal.
