Philippine Festival Competition

The celebration of the 49th Founder’s Day celebration of the school St. Louis School Don Boaco (SLS DB) includes the celebration of the Mass Demo with a theme of Philippine Festivals. The theme of the 49th Founder’s Day of SLS DB is: “SLS DB @ 49 Run towards the G.O.L.D.

49th Founder’s Celebration

The celebration of the founder’s week of SLS DB is all based on the honoring of the school’s patron saint St. John Bosco. The events set for the founder’s celebration are not only set for the students and teachers, but also for parents and alumni of the institution.

One of the highlights of the founder’s celebration includes the Sikadagan 2016, Youth Night, and of course the Philippine Festival Competition.

Philippine Festival Competition

The competition of the Philippine Festivals includes the festivals from Dumaguete City, Davao City, Bacolod City and Baguio City. These festivals are being represented by year level of the high-school department.

The 7th graders (1st year) represented Dumaguete City with the Sinulog Festival, while the 8th graders (2nd year) represented the Kadayawan Festival of Davao City. The Masskara Festival of Bacolod City was represented by the 9th graders (3rd year), while the Panagbenga Festival of Baguio City was represented by the 10th graders (4th year).

Bring home the bacon

The 9th graders, however, bagged the overall championship of the competition with their Masskara Festival. The performance of the Masskara Festival was entitles as best in choegraphy, best in costume, most artistic, and of course the champion of the Philippines Festival Competition. First runner up of the competition is the Panagbenga Festival which was represented by the 10th graders, and was announced as most discipline performer. The 2nd runner up is the Sinulog Festival of Dumaguete, while the 3rd runner up of the competition goes to the Kadayawan Festival of Davao City by the 8th graders.
