Parañaque Policeman Shots Mother & Son in Tarlac
A Parañaque policeman shot a mother and son point-blank yesterday afternoon in Purok 2, Brgy Cabayaoasan, Paniqui, Tarlac. The shooting incident occurred around 5:10 pm on December 20, 2020. The suspect in the double murder is PSMS Jonel Nuezca y Montales. He is 46 years old PNP presently assigned at Parañaque City Crime laboratory and presently residing at Barangay Cabayaoasan, Paniqui, Tarlac.
Double Murder by Parañaque Police
A video was uploaded on social media. In less than 12 hours, it was duplicated and shared in various Facebook groups and pages. The mother and son victims are identified as Sonya Gregorio y Rufino (Sona Anthony) and Frank Anthony Gregorio y Rufino respectively. Sonya is a 52-year-old woman married while Frank Anthony is a 25 years old single man. Both are residents of Brgy Cabayaoasan, Paniqui, Tarlac.
At around 6:19 PM of this date, Chief of Police of Rosales Pangasinan MPS called Paniqui MPS informing that the mentioned suspect surrendered at their station. Immediately, personnel of this station led by PLT ORILIA proceeded to Rosales MPS to pick up and transfer the said suspect at this station for proper disposition and for further investigation.
Parañaque policeman Joel Nuezca heared complains of hearing an improvised cannon (boga). He then detaining the son, as he waits the rest of the police to arrest the son. In the video, people are seen offering the crying mother some water to calm her down. She insisted on hugging her son while other shouts and begs to stop and say “tam ana!” (that’s enough). About 40 seconds before the video ended, the daughter of the policeman confronted and argued with the mother while holding her phone between her chest. From that, the events escaladed to more shouting and finally shooting.

POLICEMAN’S DAUGHTER: “Just let go na!
SON (VICTIM): “…tas ganyan ka!” (…and you’re like that)
POLICEMAN’S DAUGHTER: “SHUSH SHUSH SHUT UP!”
MOTHER (VICTIM): “Siya ang e let go mo. Hindi kami! Nandito kami sa bahay namin. Okay?” (You should let him [the son] go )
POLICEMAN’S DAUGHTER: “MY FATHER IS A POLICEMAN!”
MOTHER (VICTIME): “I don’t care e e e e re” saying in a melodic end referring to the song I Don’t Care by 2NE1 Sandara Park.
POLICEMAN: “Putang ina mo. Gusto mo tapusin kita ngayon, huh?”
Without finishing his sentence, the policeman shot the mother first at the back of her head, then shot the son’s head from the front. They both went down on the ground with a loud thump. The policeman shot the son a second time then shot the mother again on the head.
Policeman’s Daughter goes Viral
Aside from the disturbing violence of the gun shooting, a lot of people have turned the incident into a meme or a joke. In less than 24 hours, the daughter’s line “My father is a policeman” has gone viral in the Philippines. Plenty of pages and groups created their own memes and jokes about the daughter’s line before her father shoots down the victims.
Again, further investigations are still being made. According to witness and reports, suspect boarded a red nmax motorcycle, wearing black jacket, black helmet, black t-shirt and black long pants going to Tarlac City.
