Nutrition Month 2019 in the Philippines
This month of July is known as Nutrition Month 2019 all over the Philippines. During this month, the public is encouraged to eat healthily and be aware of healthy living. Schools in both elementary and high school as well as government offices parade with fruit and vegetable headdresses.

Nutrition Month is celebrated every July by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 491 signed on June 25, 1974, by then President Ferdinand Marcos. The celebration aims to create greater awareness among Filipinos of the importance of nutrition. This year’s observance of Nutrition Month campaign will focus on promoting a balanced healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition and physical fitness activities.
“We urge all government agencies and other stakeholders to join us as we hold the kick off activities for the regional Nutrition Month celebration. National Nutrition Council in the Philippines
The National Nutrition Council or the NNC is the country’s highest policy-making and coordinating body on nutrition. Their mission is to orchestrate efforts of government, private sector, international organizations and other stakeholders at all levels, in addressing hunger and malnutrition of Filipinos.
