National School Press Conference 2018

The National School Press Conference (NSPC) is currently being held in Dumaguete City at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Complex. Over 5,000 campus journalists from all over the Philippines have gathered to celebrate this event.

The National School Press Conference or NSPC 2018 for short is known also known as the “Olympics of Campus Journalism” here in the Philippines. It is the highest intellectual competition in both private and public elementary and secondary level in the filed of journalism. The qualification for the NSPC will start with a Division School Press Conference (DSPC), where in the top 3-7 in each of the categories will have to compete for the Regional School Press Conference (RSPC). The top three of the RSPC will have to compete for the NSPC.

The event was formally opened yesterday, February 19, 2018. The press conference will be celebrated in Dumaguete City from February 19 to 23, 2018. This year’s theme will revolve around “Embracing ASEAN Integration: Campus journalist’s role in advancing inclusive education”.

The National School Press Conference 2018 plays an important role indeed in both the lives of the students and their future, as confirmed by Mark Bercando of the Department of Education (DepEd) Bureau of Curriculum Development.
