Good Local Governance
Vice-Mayor Woodrow Maquiling with City DILG Officer Farah Gentuya, OIC City Planning Officer Engr.Leonides Caro and City Tourism Officer Woodrow Maquiling turned over the two awards namely ” The Seal of Good Local Governance” from DILG and Best Tourism Event in the Philippines (Adventure/Sports Category) and Best Tourism Day Celebration in the Philippines from Department of Tourism to Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria during the Flag Raising ceremony today Oct. 12 at the City Hall ground with Councilors Franklin Esmena, Peter Catan, Nelson Patrimonio, Antonio Remollo and Mr. Loloy Elmaco
Dumaguete City passed all the CORE and ESSENTIAL assessment areas for being compliant and doing a good job in Good Financial Housekeeping, Disaster Preparedness Program and Social Protection Program. It has also encourage Investment and Employment thus it passed the Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness component. The city successfully protected the constituents from threats to life and security thus it passed the Peace and Order Component and has safeguard the integrity of the environment through proper Environmental Management.
Also, Dumaguete City received 5 Million financial incentives through the access to the National Government’s Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).
Meanwhile, City Tourism Officer Woodrow Maquiling Jr. also turned over two (2) awards received by the city through the Tourism Office.
The three awards that were turned over today is 32nd award received by the City Government of Dumaguete under the leadership of Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria in just 5 years in office.
