Foster Care License for Negros Oriental

The different barangays in Negros Oriental are encouraged to get a foster care license. With the license, officials can take good care of street children roaming in their area by giving them food and temporary homes without being accused of child trafficking or kidnapping.

Foster Care License

Rosalie Dales of the Social Welfare Office of the municipality of Valencia stressed that it is not good enough to be a “Good Samaritan”. Even the Good Samaritan can be punished despite the good intentions. Without a foster care license, one must through the adoption process given by the court.

there are two kinds of adoption – one is temporary and the other is permanent, which means that the child being adopted can be considered an heir to the wealth of the family, can have their family name and be considered as their own,” said Rosalie Dales of Valencia’s Social Welfare Office.

The application for kinship care is available under the foster care provision,” Rosalie Dales added

Benefits of Foster Care License

The foster care license will allow you to more or less adopt a child without going through the adoption process and still get the benefits of helping others. The barangays that are planning to get the license must go to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) secretary.

Another good thing about having a foster care license will allow the government to extend subsidy support of Php 4,000 for taking care of a normal child and Php 5,000 for a disabled child.
