Duterte Kills NIR

Negros Oriental Region is abolished by the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte under Executive Order No. 38 signed recently this morning in Manila City. The new Executive Order will be the revocation of the previews EO 183 (series of 2015), which created composition of the Negros Island Region (NIR).

Under section 2 of EO 38, the NIR Regional Offices and Regional Councils will be ‘abolished’. Therefore, personnel will be asked to extend their support in the revision of Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental. Duterte revokes NIR under the EO 38 signed by himself and the Philippine Executive Secretary.
