Dumaguete Customs exceeds 2017 target
The Bureau of Customs’ Sub-port Office here in Dumaguete City has already exceeded the 2017 collection three months ahead of time. Everything that will be collected within the three months will be added up to the excess collection.
Dumaguete Customs 2017 Target Collection
According to Dumaguete Customs Collector Fe Lluelyn Ganir Toring, the office has collected more than PHP 1.369 Billion pesos as of September 14, 2017 (exceeding the PHP 1.303 Billion target for 2017). By September 15, 2017, alone, the excess collection was noted as PHP 66.347 Million.
Petroleum and Fuel Company behind the success
Dumaguete City has sometimes been dubbed as the “City of Gasoline Station”. With 2, 500 tricycles and hundreds of cars and motorbike, Dumaguete City is expected to have a good supply of gasoline and petroleum products.
“There is a big demand for fuel and Filoil is responding quite well to it, being the major distributor here,” said Dumaguete Customs Collector Fe Lluelyn Ganir Toring.
Among the six regular huge importers, Filoil, DUCOMI, and Pryce Gas, among others has greatly contributed to the increase of revenue.

The Bureau of Customs is an agency of the Philippine Government under the Department of Finance. They are in charge of over viewing and regulating the trade facilitation, managing customs, collecting import duties, collecting taxes and of course taking legal steps on illegal trade and customs violations.
Since 2015, the Bureau of Customs’ Sub-port Office here in Dumaguete City has been a consistent awardee for excellent performance in revenue collection. By the end of the year, the office will be expecting to receive another recognition from the Bureau of Customs (BOC) themselves.
