Dumaguete City Joins JGM Volleyball Tournament

The 4ths JGM Volleyball Tournament (invitational) will take place this coming May 18 – 20, 2018. Fifteen teams (15) will be joining the said volleyball tournament in Bacolod at the Tay Tung High School covered court.

Dumaguete City will be joining in the 4th JGM Volleyball Tournament with Don Bosco (Saint Louis School-Don Bosco) teams playing during the event. Bacolod Tay Tung High School teams A and B will be leading the cast alongside Bacolod-based teams Living Stone International School, Trinity Christian School, Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod and University of St. La Salle; Murcia Selection, La Carlota City Selection, Pontevedra Selection, Ateneo de Cebu, Ateneo de Iloilo, Bingawan Selection, University of San Agustin-Iloilo, Don Bosco-Dumaguete and Assumption Antipolo from Rizal province.

Ateneo de Cebu and Bingawan Selection will be featured s the tournament’s opener while UP Women’s Volleyball Team Head Coach Godfrey Owese Okumu will be the honored tournament’s guest speaker.

4Ps Graduates with College Degrees!

Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) under the Expanded Students Grants-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA) just recently held a graduating ceremony for the college degreed of 1,768 students.

The Expanded Students Grants-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation was implemented by the Commission on Higher Education together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment, and state universities and colleges.

These students graduated from the five partner-SUCs in Central Visayas namely Cebu Technological University (CTU), with 662 graduates; followed by Bohol Island State University (BISU), with 619 graduates; Cebu Normal University (CNU), with 306 graduates; Negros Oriental State University (NORSU), with 111 graduates; and Siquijor State College (SSC), with 70 graduates.

From these 1,768 graduates, 200 received Latin honors and leadership awards.
