Disabled Passenger Lift for Cebu Pacific
Investment of PHP 100 Million has been invested to purchase 35 Disabled Passenger Lifts. Cebu Pacific will soon distribute it to the country’s leading airports.
Disabled Passenger Lifts
A disabled passenger lift or wheelchair passenger lift will be used to board pregnant and elderly passengers to the plane. Each lift has a capacity of 300 kg load.
“We recognize that persons with disabilities and PRMs may find it uncomfortable when being lifted manually. The DPLs help us board and deplane passengers safely and with minimal discomfort,” explained Michael Van Shau, CEB vice president for airport services.
“The use of the disabled passenger lift is free of charge,” Cebu Pacific added.
The local carrier, Cebu Pacific, is said to invest in the new disabled passenger lifts for better service and easier passenger boarding. The distribution of the 35-disabled passenger lift is targeted to be all installed by June 2018.
Where will they be installed?
According to Cebu Pacific, six disabled passenger lifts have already been installed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport was installed with the disabled passenger lifts since March 2017, for testing and evaluation. Records of the availed service have reached 43, 000 passengers for wheelchair assistance as confirmed by Cebu Pacific.
Other Cebu Pacific Airbus operated airports such as Clark, Kalibo, Cebu, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Cagayan De Oro, Puerto Princesa, Zamboanga, Bacolod, General Santos, but Jan, Tagbilaran, Tacloban, Legazpi, Pagadian, Cotabato, Roxas, Ozamis, Tawi-Tawi, Tuguegarao, Virac and Occidental Mindoro will also be installed with the disabled passenger lift very soon.
