Finally, the Barangay Election will be pushed through after years of postponing. With this, poll hotspots are being listed to maximize security and safety for both the running candidates and the public.
Barangay Elections 2018 – Negros Oriental
There are seventy-three (73) hotspots for this coming barangay elections & Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections that will be included in the Election Watchlist Areas (EWAS). This will include 17 cities and towns, (Bais City, Canlaon City, Bayawan City, Tanjay City, Ayungon, Bindoy, Jimalalud, La Libertad, Mabinay, Manjuyod, Pamplona, Sibulan, Santa Catalina, Tayasan, Valencia, and Siaton).
There will be 20 barangays included in the watchlist in Guihulngan City, making it the most number of hotspot for the election in Negros Oriental. Followed by Tayasan with 12 hotspots; 6 in Mabinay; 5 in Manjuyod; 4 hotspots in Siaton & Bindoy; 3 in Bais City, Canlaon City, Pamplona and Sibulan; two hotspots in Bayawan City, La Libertad and Santa Catalina. Finally, the municipalities of Valencia, Ayungon, Tanjay City, and Jimalalud will only be having one hotspot.
Dumaguete City, Vallehermoso, Amlan, San Jose, Bacong, Dauin, Zamboaguita, and Basay will not be having any hotspot. Making them the safest place during the Barangay Election 2018 and Sangguniang Kabataan Election.
*Election Day will be this coming Monday, May 14, 2018. Please be reminded of all the regulations and restrictions of set for the said election.
