City Mayor helps the youth of Calindagan
Dumaguete’s current mayor, Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria, will be leaving his title as city mayor this 2016 election with some “good-bye” projects. These projects include feeding programs and other school-support related projects for the people of Dumaguete.
In order to spend his last few months as city mayor, Sagarbarria ends up giving donations, goods and other need the poor people of Dumaguete needed.
The Feeding Program
The feeding program activity, one of the said projects of City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria, was has held at the Medical and Dental Mission of Calindagan, which is only walking distance from the Calindagan Elementary School. The main priority of the feeding program was for the students of the Calindagan Elementary School, and other family in the surrounding areas of Calindagan.
This whole day activity was held yesterday January 11, 2016. Along with the city mayor in this feeding program were Congressman George Arnaiz, Calindagan Barangay Captain Chaco Sagarbarria, Vice-Governor Mark Macias, Councilor Nelson Patrimonio and Mr. Loloy Elmaco.
There were about two hundred or more people who attended and socialized in the said feeding program. There were not only kids but also senior citizens who also came and to witness the activity. In the end of the program, both the city mayor and vice-governor gave some meaningful and motivating speeches for the people of Calindagan.
They both summed up the motivating spirit during the delivery of their speeches to every Dumagueteño present in the activity in just about 10 mins. Of course these two government officials deserved the loud applause the people gave after their talk.
