“Walk for C.H.A.M.P.”

The Diocesan Electoral Board of the Diocese of Dumaguete informed the public of their inter-faith rally this coming Thursday. March 3. This fun rally will be based on spreading the “Walk for C.H.A.M.P” which is in regard to the May 9 poll or election.

“Walk for C.H.A.M.P.”

The Champ abbreviation on the three word campaign actually stands for Clean, Honest, Accurate, Meaningful, and Peaceful elections.  With clean intentions, honest voting, accurate choices, meaningful reasons and peaceful ways of voting, this year’s election is said to be more peaceful and organized.

Here in Dumaguete City, this Thursday’s inter-faith rally for the “Walk for C.H.A.M.P.” will start at 4 p.m. around the city and downtown from the Rizal Boulevard and will end up at the Ninoy Aquino Freedom Park.  All schools, government agencies, non-government organizations, residents, and the rest of the public community are all welcomed to join in the said walk. There will also be prayer stops around the churches of Dumaguete as the people walk around the city.

Some towns and provinces around the Philippines have already done this signing and campaigning for peace some days ago. It is only but fitting, that we too do our part in promoting peace and order for this 2016 Election.

According to the Bishop of Dumaguete, Bishop Julito Cortes, the covenant signing is suppose to be an act of good will but it is bound to fail if individual are just there for the signature and documentation. With lots of other sermons and from the bishop, he concluded as he hoped that the candidate who will sign will be sincere until their last stand of the election this coming May.
