Policemen on High Alert

After the Police Killed in Guihulngan Ambush of suspects communist National People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Guihulngan City, policemen from all over Negros Oriental are on high alert for any possible occurrences. Six policemen, including the Guihulngan police chief officer, were killed while three policemen survived yet were badly wounded.

Patrol 101 – Streets and Mountains

With this, the Police Regional Officer were tasked to take immediate actions in introducing Patrol 101. Patrol 101 is a high alert watch by a number of policemen in various areas in the streets and mountainous barangays. Surrounding areas like Cebu and Negros Occidental regions are not taking any chances and are on high alerts as well.

“They are now conducting prophylactic patrol in the mountain barangays to clear our areas after the recent atrocities in (Guihulngan) Negros Oriental. We don’t want that to happen to Cebu City so my directive is for them to conduct patrols and minor and major operations if possible,” said Cebu City Police Officer Director Joel Doria.

The act of attempted assassination and the Guihulngan ambush last Friday, also jerked the questions of many to whether martialize the regions of Luzon and Visayas. Thankfully, the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will contain his martial Law to some regions of Mindanao only.

A lawmaker also mentioned that the reaction of the communist rebels was quite stunned when the Philippines President halted the peace talk with them…He added that there is nothing to fear.

While the Patrol 101 is ongoing for public safety, the surviving police officers of the ambush were given the Wounded Personnel Medals in their hospital beds by the Negros Island Chief Superintendent Edmundo Gonzales.
