NOCCI bags Award

Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI) has been awarded by the Local Governance Support Program for Local Economic Development which is an 8-year collaborative project of Canada and the Philippines from 2008 to 2016. The award was given for its commendable commitment and counseling of various local government units in Negros Oriental on LED and investment promotion.

In the National LGSP-LED forum held at the Manila Hotel which was attended by more than senior private and public leaders and practitioners in the Philippines working for local economic development, it was reported that only NOCCI was the private sector awardee in the country.

Edward Du, NOCCI president, shared the chamber’s business model for a successful tourism and investment promotion program in one of his talks. He also took the chance to thank all their development partners in the success of the LGSP-LED project. He promised that they would strengthen their investment efforts even when the 8-year LGSP-LED project is finished.

Du was also the one who received the recognition award in behalf of Negros Oriental for the successful implementation of the LGSP-LED Tourism Circuit Development Project.
