Cebu Pacific has announced a direct domestic flight from Dumaguete to Davao and vice versa starting this July 26, 2017. Other direct flights are being compromised by heads of Cebu Pacific.

Dumaguete-Davao-Tacloban and other flight schedules

The schedules for Dumaguete to Davao flights and vice versa will be three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Aside from the announcement of the Dumaguete to Davao flights, other flights are being established as well to increase and promote tourism. Flights from Davao to Tacloban and vice versa are now available four times (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) a week starting this July 27, 2017.

Flights between Cebu and Masbate, Zamboanga and Cotabato, and Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga will be launched on the last week of July as mentioned by Cebu Pacific.

With the declaration of Martial Law by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte in Mindanao, some tourism sectors of Davao decreases. Hotel bookings, accommodations and events are being cancelled for safety and security reasons.

The City Tourism Operation Office (CTOO) said that these flights would open a lot of opportunities for the local tourism industry from all sides of the cities.

“We’re very happy with these updates as it means opportunities for us. We’re deep into planning for Kadayawan so we’ll include these new routes in our plans. We’re going all out now with preparations and events. We’re setting up a Kadayawan Village at Magsaysay Park and hoping that Dabawenyos will also help promote and join the activities,” CTOO Head Generose Tecson said.
